Seasons change and so have we: a rebrand announcement

We're so excited to take some time to explain and share what you may have already seen from our socials and website...HUA Wellness has a fresh new look and feel! 

Since May of this year, we've been working hard behind the scenes to create a brand identity that truly reflects our mission: to help you reconnect with nature and live your best life. We poured our hearts into every detail, from our new logo and bright colors, to our focus on addressing stress, to our social mission of uplifting green spaces, and most of all, to create a more impactful and authentic experience for you.

Why the change?

Our initial branding served us well, but as we grew, we realized we needed a stronger identity that captured the essence of HUA Wellness – the playful spirit, the urban edge, the unapologetic tackling of stress head on and the deep reverence for nature that's at the core of everything we do.

This rebrand isn't just about a new logo or color palette, although we're pretty thrilled with those too. It’s about what core problems we want to address through our product development, messaging, and mission-driven initiatives. It's about better serving you when we are being our most authentic. We took your feedback along the way into account and dug deep into what wellness means to us. In this blog post, we’ll take you through the major changes of this rebrand and how that has translated into our recent activities.

Be bold

We're not afraid to be playful and cheeky while staying true to our commitment to natural wellness. One of the goals of our rebrand is to let that bold personality shine through. While many brands in the natural wellness space have cultivated a “granola” personality with muted, earthy colors (which is great and works for them!), that didn’t feel authentic to us. We’re headquartered in the hustle and bustle of the biggest American city: NYC. We love the energy and passion of our city. At the same time, we prioritize our wellbeing, and connection to nature is integral to our identity. Sounds conflicting, right? Well, we’re believers in urban wellness. Humans are meant to live in communities, big and small, but the fact of the matter is that most of us live in urban areas, especially the young people in our target audience. And contrary to what many people may believe, we don’t think you have to sacrifice the healing powers of nature by living in the city. There are so many amazing hidden green spaces, parks, and recreation areas available to us if we just know how to look. Yes, there can always be improvements to our green spaces (see our social mission) but a balanced lifestyle is definitely attainable in the city and even just a stroll in your nearest park fits our definition of wellness: simple, do-able, and effective (research shows just 120 minutes a week or less than 20 mins a day spent in nature can improve our health). And for the times when you can’t literally be in nature, then it’s our mission to bring nature to you in the form of our premium, natural products. Ultimately, we believe in dualities: nature and the city, old and new, modernity and tradition, and the many diverse identities within us as Americans. To reflect our bold stance, our new tagline, "Go Touch Grass," is a call to action, encouraging you to prioritize your well-being, get off the often divisive internet and reconnect with nature – and with yourself and others – even in the city.

Tackling stress

While we'll still offer our classic vitamin and supplement products, HUA Wellness is now focusing on what we do best: providing targeted, natural stress relief solutions. Our city lives are demanding, with screens dominating our days and a constant hustle that can take a toll on our well-being. We believe in embracing the vibrancy of urban living while prioritizing our mental and physical health. Our new website, packaging, and messaging all reflect our commitment to being THE go-to brand for natural stress relief. We're moving beyond general wellness to provide solutions specifically designed to combat the unique stressors of city life. By sharpening our focus, we are better suited to serve our customers, many of whom are young people living in metropolitan areas – an demographic most at risk for mental health issues and vulnerable to stress. Plus, addressing stress was the core goal of our founder’s own wellness journey that had inspired her to start HUA – her extreme burnout due to stress led her to ultimately create her own solutions at HUA after failing to find products that could help her.

In addition to new packaging for our best-seller, Whole Food Magnesium Powder, we have launched an exciting new product that exemplifies our rebranding perfectly: Chill Switch™ Stress Support. This capsule product is our strongest stress relief product. Advocating for green spaces

Our mission to reconnect you to nature extends beyond just our natural products. We're passionate about advocating for equitable access to green spaces and building a supportive community around urban wellness. We know that green spaces benefit our health, both physical and mental. Yet, millions of Americans don’t have accessible green spaces, especially in lower income, BIPOC communities. NYC, as amazing as the parks are, is no exception with many low-income New Yorkers living in park deserts while rich New Yorkers enjoy easy access to the city’s lush and famous parks. This disparity was only amplified during the pandemic when the few small parks and playgrounds in lower income neighborhoods were closed, leaving these communities to lose the only outdoor spaces they had. Our social mission is to advocate for more green spaces for these communities. We donate a portion of our sales to support green space initiatives, because everyone deserves access to nature.

What we’ve been up to:

Yes, the rebrand has kept us busy these past few months but we’ve also been up to some very exciting activities:

  • Attending our first trade show - We attended our first trade show at NY NOW in early August. This was an amazing opportunity for us to connect with retail buyers across the country and understand what they’re looking for. We worked very hard on our booth to make it as unique and true to our brand as possible, even to the point of lining our table surface with fake grass and making a miniature park!   • Onboarding our first stockists - We’re happy to announce that we got several orders from retail shops at NY NOW so you could be seeing HUA products in boutique gift shops and wellness studios around the country in the coming months.   • Summer NYC events -  There’s nothing like summer in New York, and we definitely took advantage of the season by popping up with our “magnesium mocktails” at various wellness-related events such as yoga classes, meditations, soundbaths, and even journaling sessions. We love connecting with our customers IRL and hearing feedback in real time. Follow our instagram page to stay updated on more upcoming events.
