Green spaces are a necessity, not a privilege

Millions of Americans don't have access to local green spaces.

Why we need green spaces

Good for our health

Time and again, research shows exposure to nature benefits our health, both physically and mentally. Green spaces provide us space for recreation, exercise and community building.

Quality of life

Green spaces make cities livable. Urban living is more sustainable since we can serve more people using less resources. However, we need make city living enjoyable. Green spaces beautify our cities, attracts visitors, and boosts the economy.

Fights climate change

Green spaces make our cities more resilient to climate change by cooling us during heatwaves, absorbing excess rain water to prevent floods, and improving our air quality.

ORGANIZATIONS WE LOVE

Trust for Public Land

The Trust for Public Land is a nonprofit that works with communities, public agencies, and other conservation organizations to identify and protect land for parks and open spaces. They have completed over 5,000 projects across the US, including some of your favorite spaces such as the 606 Bloomingdale Trail in Chicago and the Atlanta Beltline.

City Parks Alliance

City Parks Alliance is the only independent nationwide membership organization dedicated to urban parks. It is a network of community leaders, government agencies, park operators, and others passionate about green spaces. They specialize in advocacy, research, and equitable funding for urban parks.

Grow NYC

Our approach to sustainability

Our passion for green spaces naturally extends to passion for sustainability, guiding us from sourcing, to packaging, and to advocacy.

Evolution

Like nature, our business is constantly changing – upgrading for the better. We are always looking to improve our impact on sustainability with the resources that we have. As we grow, we invest profits back into how we can improve from a sustainability perspective. You'll notice gradual changes in packaging and product materials as we incorporate more advanced and eco-friendly technologies as they emerge in the industry.

It takes a village

We're careful to engage suppliers and vendors in making sure they source natural ingredients responsibly – with as little disturbance as possible to the environment. We vet our brand partners to ensure they have the same priorities as us when it comes to sustainability while collaborating on projects.

Waste not

We're young and scrappy and for that reason, we're very resourceful in our operations and materials. The packaging we receive our materials in is in good enough condition for repackaging for your orders? We'll reuse it. We have excess inventory from a previous campaign or collection? We'll find a way to utilize it. As we upgrade and grow our business, you may see our branding and aesthetics evolve but we continue to sell through existing packaging before upgrading them as to not let product go to waste. Like how nature favors hexagons for their efficient shape, we are motivated to do and advocate for projects that creatively utilizes space and resources.

Materials we use

We are constantly working to upgrade our materials to be more sustainable as our business grows.

Paper

Paper is used for our box packaging for certain products as well as in our insert cards and promotional materials. Paper is recyclable, compostable, and biodegradable.

Glass

Some of our products come in glass jars, which are completely recyclable and reusable! We are working to improve our product refills so you'll eventually have the option to only receive the glass jar for the first shipment, then to be reused moving forward.

Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) Plastic

PCR plastic refers to plastic made out of recycled plastic that has been reprocessed to create new products from old plastic. Our goal is to eventually become 100% plastic-free, which is expensive for a young brand so if we do have to use plastic, we only use PCR plastic.
